    SR-880

I went behind a tech was having problems with a SR-880 that is attached to a Aficio 3045. He was experiencing problems with intermittent SC-724 error codes, false finisher jams, and the staples were stapling off the page. He replaced the staple cartridge and finally the stapler assembly, but the problem returned.

When I arrived the machine was displaying false jams and SC 724's. I pulled the staple cartridge and readjusted the staples. I reset connectors on the logic board and made sure the jogger fences were moving correctly. This corrected the errors that I was getting, however the staples were not stapling correctly. I tried making adjustments to the stapling position in service mode but it had no effect. I suspect the logic board since there aren't very many sensors or adjustments that can be done.

Has anyone experienced this problem on the SR-880"s?

You might try checking the harness that runs to the stapler that moves in and out with the stacker unit. I've seen some wear or get damaged if they are removed and not re routed properly. It can then short to the bottom of the finisher.
the savin2535 is displaying well bet the hiter lamp is not shining and the lamp had been tested o.k.please kindly help.
Samir: No, not again. I... why does it say paper jam when there is no paper jam? I swear to God, one of these days, I just kick this piece of shit out the window.

I think at this time it is time to replace the stapler unit. Unfortunately it is peculiar to this finisher.
