    [Misc] Ricoh mp4000 printing from computer issue.

    Hi,

    I am a new to photocopy machine and I need help
    I was configuring 1 windows XP 32 bit to allow it to print to mp4000 machine. I had use RPCS driver download from the ricoh site and and pcl6 driver. But my attempt to do a test print doesnt work. I could see that the ricoh mp4000 green led light up and gone when i do a test print from the computer. However, there's no printing comes out from the machine.

    Does any1 know what is the problem?
    thanks.

    How are you trying to connect the computer to the MP4000? There are some differences between using the USB and NIC interfaces.
    This is just a guess, but it kind of sounds like you are trying to hook the MP4000 to a network, and you might not have entered the machine's correct full network address in the port section of the driver. At least that's what I'd check first based on the information you have shared.

      If the printer is on your network via a cat5 cable connected to a data port or directly into a router/switch then;
      • you would need to configure the machine with an IP address that matches your network setup
      • use add printer wizard in control panel to add a local printer using a standard tcp/ip port pointing to the copier's IP address
      • point the installation wizard at the print driver you downloaded and extracted on your computer

      Although you may have installed the printer a different way, I always recommended to create a local standard tcp/ip port that points to the copiers IP Address

      Let me know if this helps, or please provide more information on your setup and what steps you took installing the print driver

          If I understand you correctly, the green LED flashes briefly when you send a print job, but then stops?
          If that's the case, then you most likely have it set up properly, but the machine was probably set up to require User codes (or 'authentication') in order to print.
          You'll need to turn off authentication. This should help with that:

          P.S.
          In the future it will serve you better to post your issues in the appropriate forums. In this case here:
