Clients complaint one computer can printer faster than another.

    Hi,

    Need help.

I have a client. He told me that her new pc sometimes takes longer time to print to mp4000. Sometimes, It would at least take 16mins before it starts printing. On the other hand, he said that his old pc doesn't have this issue. Kindly request for solutions for this case please.. Thanks.

My first thought would be that the new computer is Windows 8 using the driver provided with Windows. Who installed the driver on the new computer?

You did not identify the Ricoh model. If you go to the customer, download and install the proper Ricoh driver for the OS version being used. Check the driver settings. In the past I have encountered speed problems depending on whether the graphics was set for raster or vector. It was at a church and they were trying to print their bulletin for Sunday. The way the graphics was set when I got there, it took about 30 minutes to send an 11X17 sheet. The other way, it took less than a minute.

It's definitely/obviously a PC or network issue and NOT the Machine. I'm with "slim" and leaning towards the Windows stock driver being installed. -OR possibly even a poor network connection of the PC.

ALSO... I'm assuming that this is the same MP4000 that you couldn't get to print at all the other day, so at least you're making progress

How are the computers connected to the Ricoh?

He could be right if in one computer he prints in 600dpi and in another computer he prints in 1200dpi.
          The smallest resolution,fastest the printing.

Im getting tired of customers IT Admins doing this - i honestly cant believe that they do it.

Installed a printer and using the Windows Class driver!

ALSO AVIS066 - a way of trouble shooting is to install a couple of different Ricoh drivers onto the PC that is running slow (if possible), EG: install a Postscript (if the mfd has this option), install PCL6, install PCL5 and maybe even RPCS, point them all to the Ricoh and then print the same document through each driver and see which one works the best.

If his old PC is WinXP or 7 and his new one is Win8 then straight away there is a huge difference.

            Good luck

I would also make sure it is using a TCP/IP port and not a WSD port.
