MP 6001 NVRAM copying from backup

    hi.
i have a mp6001 that came back from lease wth 67k and no hard drive.
after buying a wd 250gig sata and formatting it,i thought i was good to configure
    this at my account.
only to find out that both admin and supervisor passwords have been changed from default.
i cant enter ip address.service mode is ok and i printed out smc report.
can i upload the image from my backup"no password" mp6001 nvram?
if so what do i need to reset upon startup?
if not what would i have to swap out from backup copier?
also does it matter if the original machine had the DOSS option installed ,
which i had off the machine as it was pulled wth the original harddrive
    thnx

Re: MP 6001 NVRAM copying from backup

Just to add that in my case, I went ahead and changed the NVRAM from the other piece to have it work on time, since I could not login due to the changed password.
Now, I put this NVRAM on the other equipment and it asks for the restoration.
I tried to follow the nvram_key.txt (nvclear) process used for MP C6000 but it did not work.
    Any advice..

only can hope you printed out SMC sheets.
did you just swap out nvrams from different units?

i have in the past swapped out the "black box",for a lack of words on earlier boxes.
          the entire swing out case.
took a machine wth 4mil copies and used the controls on a 200k box.
my prev problem i was able to remedy by web image log on

Re: MP 6001 NVRAM copying from backup

I was able to put this NVRAM back to where it belongs.
Since, I was not able to get through the passwords and change the IP,I had to swap the NVRAM from the other unit temporarily.
This locked NVRAM and started to ask the restoration on the other equipment which had to reset by the following process.

            1. Prepare an SD card which is initialized.
            2. Make the "restore_key" folder in the SD card.
            3. Make an "nvram_key.txt" file in the "restore_key" folder in the SD card.
            4. Input "nvclear" into the "nvram_key.txt" file.
            5. Turn on the main power switch.
            6. Confirm that the prompt on the LCD tells you to install the SD card (storing the encryption key) in the machine.
            7. Turn off the main power switch.
            8. Insert the SD card that contains "nvclear" into slot 2.
            9. Turn on the main power switch, and the machine automatically restores the encryption key in the flash memory on the controller board.
            10. Turn off the main power switch after the machine has returned to normal status.
            11. Remove the SD card from slot 2.
            12. Turn on the main power switch.
            13. Initialize the NVRAM (SP5801-1) and HDD unit (SP5832-1) with SP mode.
            14. The user must enable the HDD encryption unit with a user tool.

P.S. For file transfer, do not use just any SD CARD,either order it from Ricoh or use any of the Ricoh SD card(that come with Ricoh equipment/s).

After the reset ,I put the NVRAM back to their master equipment.

            Thanks a ton for reading.
