[Misc] Detecting Users Printing on RICOH MP3350

    Hi to all!!

I have several RICOH MP-3350/2550 with some clients, but one of them is asking me how can he locate a user printing several documents that are not related to work (homework form kids, web pages, etc.).
When he enters to the "Job List"/"Job History"/"Printer" the only things he sees is tha job number and only ....................... in User.
What do i have to do in order for this machine to show me the user name in the printer job history??

    Thanks in advance!!!

Change the printer port from RAW to LPR, which will push the name of the user logged into the machine along with the job data. This only works however, if you're printing from a network server unless you want to have someone physically go around to every workstation and make the change.

Put a camera in front of the copier, put a sign next to it to ' look here and smile' I guarantee you they'll stop printing home stuff.

This is free advice, no charge.

lol ive done this! Only took it a step further and took a pic of him using it when he shouldnt be, then put it on his desktop background - moved the camera to see his expression when he started up his comp, was hilarious!

Sorry to go off topic tho.

Set up user codes and require them for printing. You won't know who printed what jobs, but you be able to see who printed how many pages each day.

Did you give the port the queue name of lp? If it's a shared printer on the server, you may have to re-add the printer to client computers.
