    MP6000 light copies...230K meter

I am working on a perfectly running MP6000 with 230k on the meter, except for 1 problem...light copies.

I can do a "Force Toner Supply" and the copies look great, then after 2 to 3 hundred copies it starts going light again.
I have done this several times over the last couple of weeks but I need to resolve the issue for real this time.

I do have a bag of developer, so I can replace that if necessary.

Seems strange that a 60 copy a minute machine is doing this so early in it's life (copy count wise).

Any feedback would be appreciated greatly!

I'm sorry I don't understand "make common rest".
I am leaving for the customers office and will clean the toner density sensor as instructed.

      Thank you

Replace the TD sensor the one attached to the side of the toner hopper You might have to do a dev change as well but change both at the same time and run the SPs for setting up new dev.

If the device isn't keeping good toner density it would more than likely be the developer needs replacing they don't always run to life although quite good on this model.

I would clean out the machine, check charge wire and mag roller for build up of hard toner then initialise ID sensor. After a good run if VSG ref is ok and VSP is still high I would replace developer.

I just got back from doing a dev. change and cleaning the toner density sensor.
I ran 200+ copies and they looked fine.

Have to wait and see. This office runs 3-5k a day during tax season...that will test it!

            Thanks again...

Sounds like Process Control is dragging it back to where it was. Use forced toning to get the image density to you want it then turn the machine off. Open the front door and turn the machine on with the door open. Leave the door open until you enter SP mode. This will prevent process control from running at power up. Reinitialize toner density sensor.

Sounds like you may need to turn the toner feed time down. If a fast machine like that isn't being used enough, not enough toner is being fed into the developer unit. For whatever reason, turning the toner feed time down makes the toner feed clutch stay engaged longer, which will help the toner feed to keep up without the developer becoming overtoned.

Correct. But it's the toner END Sensor. if u/s will not asK for toner and will lose density over 200- 300 copies.

NEVER use forced toner! Use the "ID check during run" option which Can be used to double check VSP toner levels at a defined Interval (say 50 copies) on long runs this will add until the toner patch density recovers and will Not Knacker the dev by overtoning.

Did you actuaIly check VSP VSG and VT?

They wiIl tell you if there is toner in the dev unit but none at the drum, or no toner in the dev unit due to no toner supply from the hopper....... which takes us back to the toner END sensor.
