I used to believe that the SPC420DN was Ricoh's version of the American Abrahams Tank - in one word: bullet-proof! The 430 we all know was a colossal failure.
Until last week:
I have one 420 that would not add black or cyan, no matter what - doing a forced toner, the motors sit dead still, yet if you take them off the shaft, they spin wonderfully. Then when you do the same add toner with the motor not installed, it starts to spin slower??
We replaced the IO board and this lasted all of 2 weeks before similar symptoms appeared, albeit on other colours!
We replaced the whole machine (with a known good one) and low and behold yesterday a call comes in... black is running light!!?? WTF????
Went to the customer and the black motor has no power. Swopped it with another motor, and still no power? What gives??
Has anyone had similar issues with the SPC420DN??
