    Ricoh 1035 SC672

This error code, SC672, only appears on the display screen when both the print card and hard drive are plugged in. If I were to unplug the hard drive and leave the print card plugged in, the copier would function without the error code, and the same would happen if I unplugged the print card, and only had the hard drive plugged it, the copier would function without the error code. I decided to test everything, to be safe and sure of where the problem was, so I plugged in a bare controller board. The machine worked as it should, no error code. So then I started plugging in each card, one by one. The machine fired up and worked normally, but as soon as I plugged the hard drive in, (After turning the copier off and unplugging it) the error code came back up. Same error code every time, SC672. Of course if I were to unplug the print card only and turn the machine on it would function without the error code, but as soon as I plugged the print card in and fired it up, the error code would appear again. So my conclusion is that this only happens when the hard drive and print card are plugged in at the same time, so is this a memory problem? Thank you for any help given.

It could be a portion of the hdd or memory used by the print function is bad. If you have another machine available, try swapping the hdd.
