[Misc] wierd prints on various Ricoh models

Gents. Just thought I would give you all a heads up on a problem you may come across in the field. We have had a few issues where engineers have come across what most would describe as wierd printing issues. By this I mean, imagine the customer printing out a picture, as we did, of members of the staff in a school. When they printed it previously it came out absoulutely fine. Then when no settings had changed from their point of view, next time they printed it most of the peoples faceS, in the skin tone areas, suddenly looked like they had a red rash over them, and another one of a car in a showroom where the tiles on the floor, instead of coming out clear and shiny, came out all dull and looked like rasterisation all over them.
Engineers had thrown drums developers and even boards at these machines, but in the end all we had to do was use this sp code which is
SP5- 801- 008 "PRINTER MEMORY APPLICATION CLEAR". Once done prints were absoultely fine again

This could be a big help and save guys scratching their heads for ages. It does only happen once in a blue moon! but hope it helps. IAN Y

    Try the following :

    Execute SP5-610
    Execute SP1-101 (in Printer SP)
    Perform Manual Process Control
Perform Line Adjustment (1 times SP2-111-003, and 2 times SP2-111-1)

The first 2 SP's reset all process control data, which may become corrupt over time, resulting in line adjustment errors and process control errors.

I'm doing this for quiet some time now and it works very well.

Thanks for your reply Eric. your information is useful, but my email was not saying we still have a problem, jus that I was advising guys what to watch out for and the sp 5 -810 008 code was the answer. Cheers Ian

It is always a good idea to do a memory clear on the Printer Application whenever you have a printing problem, if done don't forget to redo the Auto Colour Calibration as these are cleared aswell.

Good job as I already knew about this problem as the solution wasn't aimed at me

You can get the same issue on copies when prints are fine, do a memory clear on copier application
