Ricoh 1515 MF Set SC500 Code

Have a 1515MF, it's got 175K copies/scans/prints and just set the code today, tried clearing it with power off, the unit started a grinding noise today and finally set this code.

What is it that needs to be addressed, the searches I've found are not clear on where to start.

Any assistance appreciated as to what to look for and what parts to order to replace.

Yes, but reading the feedback it looks as though you may not get a genuine Ricoh one, as I never get to use compatible parts, I don't know how good these are

Excellent, I can get a Ricoh from staples using my rewards points to shave a bit off,
appreciate your help.

Are there any tips or tricks to this, is there a place where I can download a service manual,
I do a lot of computer work, other electronics so this shouldn't be too difficult, would help to know
where and what to remove.

Power off machine. Open right cover, and front cover. Remove toner hopper unit. Unplug and remove PCU.
Install new PCU, close covers and power on. Unit will be initialised automatically.

Changing the PCU is easy, it is a customer replaceable part, so should come with instructions, but following sandmanmac's instructions should get you there

This is a problem I encounter frequently with very low customers. Development unit does not get enough churning an developer stacks up at the back end of the unit causing an overload on the main motor (SC 500 main motor lock). Makaza advice would work if the parts were available for this model, which so far I have not been able to find. Gears are different size from those used in the B039 series.
