MP2000 Black horizontal line at 1/3 from the end of the page

    Hi,

A solid black line at at about 19 cm from the top of the A4 page appears on the MP2000 printouts (as in the example).

Some other irregular dots are also visible.

The same issue with scanning, only that the black line is on the upper part of the page (1/3 from the top)

Changing the toner does not resolve the black line issue, although it looks less visible.

Thanks in advance for your oppinion.

    Jacques

Needs a complete drum rebuild and cleaned optics.

I see drum spots and a probable scratched drum from most likely one of the drum pawls.

MP 2000 uses a B2592210 if there is damage to the PCU upper frame or the development unit.

If the PCU frame and development unit are usable, PMB12160K, B0399510 OPC Drum, and B1219640 Developer Type 28. You might want to order the gears B0393062 (2), B0393245 (2), and B0393060 (1) in case there are any worn gear teeth. It is best to replace worn gears when you are replacing developer rather than having to dump the developer when the gears go completely.

The line at one third on LEF paper is sometimes a finger scratch on drum,I'd advise you to eather rehook that finger or eliminate it.
As they allready stated above do a full parts replacement on PCU.
Tiny arced dots apear on wery old drums, the ones that passed PM level, dirty background is allso caused by old drum, but you shuld change that developer and gears all the same...so you wuldn't worry if it's going to "hold".Old developer allready has too much toner in it because machine used to determine toner density on old drum that is near blind.
And be shure to put SP2201 and 2001 back to initial values.
Gears, springs, clutches, sliders, connectors and electronics...who on earth can tell what's wrong with it?
