Two machines (MP C2550 and Aficio 2022) in same office with same network configuration. Aficio 2022 is used as back-up only. When MP C2550 is broken, the network cable is transferred to Aficio 2022.Scan to email works in MP C2550 but not in Aficio 2022. Any idea?

You might also try using the mail server IP addess instead of the name (or vice versa). Some machines prefer one over the other.

I checked many times the network configuration of two machines and all are the same. I use the IP address and server name of the SMTP server but still not working.The two machines are placed side by side so i can easily checked the scan to email of both machines. When I scan to Aficio 2022, it is showing sending failed or it just shows sending. But scan to folder is working. Scan to folder is not allowed in the office of the bank so scan to email must be configured.Comment

As an example, I set up a machine about a week ago, and couldn't get it to work. I checked it several times myself. Finally, the end user came over for a closer look and noticed I had entered a "," instead of a "." in the DNS.
My eyes aren't what they used to be, but in my defense it was only a little 17" monitorComment

ip address? Once set, it doesn't need to be re- entered anywhere specifically for scan to email if that's what you mean?
It sounds like you're making these settings on the control panel of the machine rather than the WIM. Is that correct? The WIM is much easier because most of the input is all on the screen in front of youComment

I would say that the email server requires SMTP over SSL. This is not supported on machines as old as the 2022. Since the customer is a bank, they most like are using a email provider that uses the higher security of SMTP over SSL.
Do you know what the error code is that when you try to scan to email. After scan to email fails, go to User Tools - System Settings - Interface Settings and print the interface settings. Near last entries on the third page of the print out will be a number of entries with SMTP as part of the line. The error code(s) will be on those lines. Download a listing of SMTP error codes and look them up. This will tell you what kind of error you are getting.Comment

The Aficio 2022 doesn't support ANY protocols other than open port 25 SMTP. I would say the issue is the current SMTP server is or has security that works with the newer model. The only way to get the other machine working is to logon to Free Webmail and Email by GMX | Sign Up Now! and signup an account for that customer. Just use a generic name and password and that will give you free SMTP outgoing service over SSL and it doesn't require the settings at the copier. Once you get the account setup input smtp.gmx.com for the email server and the username and pass you setup for the account and it should work perfectly. The customer won't know the difference.
