    [Jamming] Ricoh 3045

Got this Ricoh 3045 that keeps on jamming at c as it enters the interchange unit that is in simplex mode ,tried cleaning the switches, the feed rollers and transport rollers. The fusing is ok any suggestions for these.

    Thanks.

Even though switches have been cleaned doesn't mean they aren't the cause. Those switches will start arcing when they go bad and short out which causes false readings and jams intermittently. I have replaced many of these switches in the bridge units and other places where they are located. Cheap and easy to replace. If you have made sure nothing in the fusing or switchback is the culprit its worth a shot to replace all the switches in the bridge unit. Hope this helps...BTW last time I replaced was in a brand new unit out of the box...Cheap design.

check and make sure there are no broken fingers on the inverter guides. also check the gate solenoids they could be sticking.

I second this ! Taking the scanner off is a bit of a pain though

What's the jam code? That's the first thing you should look for when you can't find the cause easily.

After you done a few it get easier.

Try replacing the fusing exit sensor. It is one thing that I have ran into with older 35s and 45s. After years of being exposed to the heat rising from the fusing unit, they start to fail intermittently.
