ricoh mp6001 fax

and happy monday. customer calls this morning on their ricoh aficio mp6001. if they press the fax button the screen comes up and says loading. if they try to put a fax quick dial in from the copier web page, it won't let them enter the fax #. has anybody seen this? any and all help would be much appreciated.

The fax option is not loading properly. Check the connections between the controller and the interface board, the interface board and the FCU board, and the MBU and the FCU. Reseated any socket mounted components on the FCU and MBU boards. If all connection are good, most likely the MBU is bad. MBU is where the fax option loads from.

Hard drive going bad? I have seen "please wait, loading" on a MP5000/5001 series up to 15 minutes after hard drive replacement.
