[Misc] Printer Features not shown (MP 2852)

The " PRINTER FEATURES" is not shown in the display. Printing is not possible because of that problem. Enabled the NIC in SP-5985, updated the firmware, replaced the controller board, reformatted the HDD but still "PRINTER FEATURES" is not shown. Any ideas?

As Ruben asked, if it is a 2852 and not a 2852SP then there is no printer/scanner function installed. It probably also has no HDD and only 512MB of RAM. Look at the diagnostic printout, SP 5990-005, to see if printer and scanner firmware are present. To upgrade to full SP functionally will require installing the Printer/Scanner Unit, EDP Code 415821, and 512MB RAM. Service manual show that the P/S unit includes the HDD but not the RAM, but the Product Support Guide does not list a RAM option so the P/S unit might actually include it. If not you should be able to source it on the internet.

Printer function requires 1GB of RAM. You need to add another 512MB of RAM for the printer function to work.

Installing another 512MB RAM in the controller has solved the problem. Thank you for your suggestion.
