Ricoh Aficio 6001 Tandem Tray 1 Removal

Is there a secret screw or some secret ritual needed to remove this tray? We need to get in below it and in back of it. Any help would be most appreciated. We have the the manual online from Justmanuals, but it shows nothing in the Replacement and Adjustment segment, and of course, the Parts Manual is just a Parts page, a puzzle.

    Thanks, guys, again!

Ummm, My face is red--I apparently need to go back to school for practice in reading comprehension, right there in front of me, like the nose on my face! Page 4-82 in the manual from JustManuals. DUH> for those who don't know. Simple Screw. And that is not a metaphor! But thanks anyway! LOL!

Honestly, you are to be congratulated for finding the answer on your own and following up what you did to resolve the issue (even though you felt embarrassed- which you shouldn't be) . Too many 'techs' post questions asking for help without doing any initial legwork of their own. Then when they are provided a multitude of solutions by others, they don't post what the eventual fix was. You're the type of technician the industry needs more of.

Never had looked in the manual, learned how @ Ricoh training years ago. I now have my way to do this: I pull both sides of the tray out and make sure they are not locked together. Then I remove the 2 screws for the RH side, pull the duplex unit out slightly and slide the RH rail into the machine. Now you should be able to lift slightly and remove the RH side. I know alot of techs remove the LH side first, but you don't have to................

Glad to see you found it on your own in the manual powshar!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have found that if you remove the two screws on the left most rail of the LH side, you can pull it out far enough you can lift the RH side out after sliding the rail back in without having to worry about the lock mechanism. Be sure to put all screws back in after working on the tray.

I also know a few techs who remove the lock mechanism entirely.
