    RICOH USER CODE

    Hello everyone,

we have ricoh mpc3001 and mpc4500 both copiers asking user code when we turn on the copiers. We tried supervisor, admin, 12345678 but not working, keep saying user authentication has failed. We did clear memory and all address book data but still same.

    Any ideas..

    Thanks

Who else is REALLY tired of this question? Let's see your hands...

..and a memory clear too! The problems will only be beginning when you finally do get logged in

      User code.

Then you should try the user manual.

        Re: RICOH USER CODE

User code is just that, a code that a user has to enter to use a particular function. If the customer does not want to use user codes, go to:
        USER TOOLS
        SYSTEM SETTINGS
        ADMINISTRATOR TOOLS
USER AUTHENTICATION and turn "User authentication" OFF.

As sandmanmac said, unless you have the birth certificate, you will have a major project getting all settings in SP mode back to where you can have auto adjustments get you to good color copies. I know it has been said before, but in case you haven't heard, never ever EVER EVER EVER unless instructed to do so by RICOH tech support and then only if you have already made a backup or print out of the SP settings, or the the original birth certificate. Even when you have a the birth certificate or a printout, it is still going to take time to enter them all.

How about searching the forums first, either with the forum search or google search.................. and then there's always the RTFM's.........

P.S. slimslob and sandmanmac are correct about memory clear without an nvram backup or the birth certificate or a print of the non default data before hand, you can be soooo screwed with out 1 of these........................

Well, looks like someone has changed all admin password and even supervisor also when we try login as supervisor and password blank its not letting in.

If any one know how to change supervisor password or disable/enable supervisor from sp mode please help.
            thanks

It is mentioned in many posts on this forum. Also, I think Paul@JustManuals.com might have something for this. Email him.
