MPC65/7501 blurry area about 1 inch wide

We have 3 of these in our area, and one of my techs is having a torrid time trying to fix this issue, that has spread to all 3 over time.

At random the machine will (only on blacK) print a blurred (around 1inch wide) band along the lead edge (it is being fed long edge).

We have replaced: Drum, charge grid assy and hvpsu, removed all filters on all 3 of these, but what is weird is that it will do this, then after a few prints it will go away and stay away until it happens again.

To me, because it is so blurry, it makes me think that it is charge related, but we cannot find the cause.

Any help will come greatly appreciated!

I have seen this loads of times but to be honest drum and charge has always sorted it ! What environment are they in, does this occur at a particular time of day ?

I did have one that we needed to set weekly timer to switch on the device an hour early in the morning so it was up to temperature for when the customer needed it.

Hi, this is most likely to be the air filter on the toner hopper unit being blocked with fluff, therefore not blowing enough air to ventilate the area between the black charge corona unit and drum, causing condensation to settle on the drum in that area. This filter is on the right cover of the toner hopper unit. Take out the toner hopper unit (3 screws), look from the right side of the unit and you will see a small square cut out with a filter inside it. Clean it and the problem should be cured.
      Hope this helps.

The C7501 I service exhibits the same thing in a high humidity environment. It is caused by condensation on the drum. Every spring it happens until they turn on the AC and dry the moisture out of the air. Even in a humid environment, usually running a few prints through it will take care of the problem.
