The reason why he only has copy sp and pm counter is because it may only be a copier with document server, so in that instance there will be no issue with the device at all
Thanks for the reply. Just called him and he's getting SD card authentication failed.
These are old refurbs that have just gone into client. I doubt if cards were ever backed up (or where I don't know).
Can the cards be repaired or do we have to order new ones?
Thank you.

Is it supposed to have a printer/scanner option?
Is it fiery equipped?
What is the exact issue as there may not be one.

SD card authentication could be the SD card in the wrong slot. Most likely, either the SD card is defective or has had the application moved off of it to another card. To my knowledge, there is no way to "rebuild" one. You will have to order a service replacement card from parts. Look in the parts catalog of the print/scan option.
One other thing to try, I haven't checked to see if this product line has models with embedded firmware. If it does, try booting the machine with the card removed.
Thanks for your help. Are you saying it may run without the card, or will we still need to replace it?

Try it and find out. It would be nice to know what card you are talking about (print/scan, PS3 etc.) With some cards like PS3, they can only be installed on one machine. If you try to install it on another machine you will get an error like the one you have.
