    MP C6501 SC 402

    Hello ,
    I have a Ricoh MP C6501 that is throwing a sc 402. I have changed the toner supply, developer and drum.
    I have a spare machine that I'm swapping parts to and from and on 1 of the DV/PCU units I get blotchy copies on the new one it throws the SC code but makes beautiful blacks...
    Any HELP!!!

      What process control results are you getting? Are the ID sensors clean and did the developer fill and initialisation both complete normally?
      It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

          I have a MP C6501 that is frequently throwing an SC 407 (ID Sensor Pattern Minimum Coverage Error 2: M) and occasioanlly 411 (ID sensor error: Development γ M) with it.

          I have tried swapping parts that can be swapped between colours to see if the fault moves but it never has.

          The last thing i did which seemed to resolve the issue for a few months was clean the drum potential sensor above the magenta drum. If the error happens again i'm goig to try and replace the sensor. Next step after that would be to replace the dev unit and developer

                  SC402 means black is probably over toning.

                  Did you follow the SM to the letter on dev filling / putting in another PCU etc?

                  This model will kick you in the nuts if things are not done correctly.

                      Had to go through all the settings OVER and OVER again.
                      This machine is a POS LOL

                              These machines are notorious for belching toner. If you have access to Ricoh-USA tech sites, rfg-esource and tsrc, download bulletins 017, 035, ans 040. The main one is 035. Follow it step by step and you should be able to get the toner scattering controlled.

                                  Would anyone be kind enough to post these TSB's. Us limeys don't get anywhere near as many as you do.
