MP 2550 Document Server items transfer to new machine

We have a customer that is refusing to upgrade thier eqipment because they do not want to loose the items they have saved in their Document Server.
They refuse to print the items out and then scan them back in to the new unit.
Is there a way to transfer items saved in the Document Server to a new machine?

If they do not want to print them out and do not currently have a safety hardcopy, ask them what they plan to do when the hard disk craters. I always tell my customers that use the Document server that they need to keep a hardcopy as a precaution. Hard disk do eventually fail. After you get a SC related to the HDD is too late.

The only other option is to install a File Format Converter card (EDP# 414007). This will enable them to download the files in PDF/JPEG/TIFF format. If it means a sale, maybe convince the sales rep to invest in one. Just remove it afterwards and save it for future use (also works on the MP4000). Otherwise, what slimslob said is what goes.

I have accounts that use the Doc Server for MAC scanning on their MP series machines, so I'm assuming they can attach the files to their emails. If you can scan to the Doc Server & save the files onto a computer, you should be able to upload them (print to the Doc Server) on the new model.

If the customer is using 'store file' then yes, they can pull documents from the doc server screen in the WIM. But documents that are stored directly in the doc server function are in the machine language and can only be printed out. The media converter card converts those documents to a usable file format.
