    Ricoh MP C4000 SC582

    Hi all

I attended a Ricoh MP C4000 today with error SC582.

As we all know, these relates to a possible inverter coil/thermostat issue.

This error came 10 days after we installed a new fuser hot roller and pressure roller. We made sure we never went near the thermostat and left the printer working.

I have checked the coil thermostat and there is continuity so believe the coil thermostat is ok.

I have 220V at the PSU to Inverter but I don't get any voltage from the inverter to the Inverter Coil.

I also checked the fuser thermostat assy for continuity and they were fine. . .

Normally I would just replace the Inverter Board but wonder if the coil can take out the inverter board too. . . . .therefore requiring both the inverter and the coil???

I look forward to any help

    From Goose's Guide:

    D027/D029 SC 582 check cn 982 pin 1 & 2 for short on thermostat
D027/D029 SC 582 fix relay board location to behind IH coil
D027/D029 SC 582 IH inverter current error - check connections and wires from IH inverter to IH coil
D027/D029 SC 582 IH inverter current error - check Tstat of coil at CN982 for continuity, replace IH Coil (#D0294325) assy as needed
D027/D029 SC 582 IH inverter current error - replace IH coil
D027/D029 SC 582 IH inverter current error - replace IH coil (#D0294325) check across T1/T2 on inverter board for continuity
D027/D029 SC 582 IH inverter current error - replace IH inverter
D027/D029 SC 582 IH inverter current error - replace IH inverter board (#D0295170)
D027/D029 SC 582 IH inverter current error - replace IOB (#D0295120)
D027/D029 SC 582 IH inverter current error - replace Relay Board # D0295160 (behind IH coil)
D027/D029 SC 582 IH inverter current error - replace Relay Board # D0295160 (on fuser)
D027/D029 SC 582 IH inverter error - check CN 982 pin 1 to 2 for continuity check to Tstat
D027/D029 SC 582 replace IH coil
    D027/D029 SC 582 Replace thermopile - #AW100106
D027/D029 SC 582 SC 582. Replace relay board.
I would always replace the coil and IH inverter board as a pair.

Hi. You should replace the inverter and the coil as a pair as already mentioned.

You must also replace the drum phase position sensors with this part:- D089 1135, you need 4 of them. (Modified with anti-static plate). They are located behind the controller board when it swings out at the back of the pcus if you understand me, you will see them with the controller hinged out.

This was the underlying cause of the fuser coil issues on this model. Also, when your work is done make sure all your pcu's are within pm as pcus that have gone over pm can also spike the phase sensors causing the controller to lock up during a fuser cycle causing the fuser problems also.

Make sure the fuser rollers are ok and the Orange one hasn't disintegrated at one end (all the foam drops out).

Hope all this helps. Carefull also, as problems like this take their toll on the psu and can lead to that failing due to the faulty inverter board which has also been modified.

      Cheers.

Hi, there is an rtb on the Ricoh technical website for this. I don't have it to hand at the moment, but basically, the rtb shows the its the drum phase sensors that can take this IH invertor board down.
Ricoh recommend replacing the IH coil, and invertor board together, and replacing the drum phase sensors for the new part number which includes the sensor and the drum phase sensor earthing assembly.

If you don't change these sensors, you run the risk of taking out the invertor board again, and again.

If you do a search on on my posts, you should find a post with the rtb number, the part number for the new drum phase sensors and the post I made explaining it all.
Another symptom can be the copier just dead, ie: blown fu1 fuse on the pwb.

        Hope this helps

        Alex

          Thanks Alex

I have had the FU1 fuse blow before and had to replace the IH Coil and Inverter.

Looks like a new Inverter coil, Board and drum sensors will have to be replaced then ey.

Ive had a look at your posts and would appreciate if you could dig out that bulletin as I have searched with no success. . . .

          Thanks Alex

              Thanks

Does the part number D0891135 include all 4 sensors or do I need 4x D0891135?

Do you have the actual bulletin?

Unfortunately, I don't have it to hand, I'm on my mobile, and the Ricoh tech site is horrible to navigate at the best of time.

The D0891135 part number is x 4. Ie: you need 4 of them.
