Are your supplies Genuine Ricoh or are they after market? Other than that I would check the image density sensor. ID sensor errors do not throw SC on this model. See section 5.2.8 ID Sensor Error Analysis in the service manual as a guide to determine if the ID sensor is functioning correctly.

When you say " ran calibration " you mean sp 2-801, right? Have you checked your drum ground ? What are your current values for VSP and VSG? It would help to know if the machine thought it was over toned. Did you run your logging data to see if there were any hidden SC codes ? I would probably start there.

Thanks for the info. I will check that out Monday, I am sure it is overtoned. Is there a way to detone and recalibrated. Yes I did run 2-801 when I installed the pcu 6 weeks ago.

You can try to run either sky shots or checkered flag pattern with the toner bottle removed. When it gets to the density you want or asks for a toner bottle, reinitialize the TD sensor. Also have you check the ID Sensor Error analisys? If the ID sensor is bad copy quality will get going to cr@p.

Thankyou Sir If the ID sensor error occurs does that mean bad sensor or can it be calibrated or does it need to be replaced.

Look at the section of the service manual on ID Sensor Error Analysis. It will tell you if the sensor just needs cleaning or if it needs to be replaced.

It looks like the ID sensor is bad (voltage readings are off) What are your thought on turning that sensor off for the time being. SP 2927 to no

The only issue I've struck on an MP301 on a similar vein is a machine we've had brought to the workshop just 2 weeks ago with a broken dev auger.
It pissed toner all through the machine.
