C3535 (B222) bypass rollers turn wrong way.

    Hi Guys,
I've got a Savin C3535 that the bypass rollers turn in reverse and kick out the paper. Have replaced the feed clutch and one way bearings and the IOB. I have continuity from the IOB to the clutch so the harness is good. It seems that the clutch isn't turning on. I don't get a change of state with different clutches and IOB's. Maybe a power supply? I get 23.2V for all my 24V circuits. Not sure if thats normal.

    thanks

My guess would be that you have the wrong feed roller installed. Correct part number is AF031046. The one way bearing in the feed roller for the bypass turns the opposite direction as the paper trays. The pickup roller is driven by the feed roller. If a feed roller for a paper tray is installed in the bypass, the reverse roller will drive the feed roller in the reverse direction.

Thanks for the advice. I don't think anyone change the feed roller but it's a lot easier to check than what I was going to do.

Check the nap of the rollers.
if the sep is installed backward, it will kick the paper back out due to torque limiter.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

Checked feed rollers and they are the correct ones installed correctly. The shafts are actually turning the wrong way

If the correct feed roller is installed in the correct position and your feed shaft is turning in the opposite direction, you should get no drive at all because the one way bearing would not grip the shaft. Make sure that when the roller is installed that it spins freely on the shaft in the direction that would push the paper in the feed direction but lock if you tried to manually spin the roller in the opposite direction. The only time I had a savin that fed paper in the wrong direction was a feed roller where the one way bearing in the roller hub was slipping once in a while. Try spraying some WD40 on the one way bearings in the feed roller to make sure they are not sticking in the open position.

i guess you installed sir the feed roller the other way around.
fix the customer first then fix the machine... its simple and makes life more easy.

Try turning the feed roller, not the pickup roller. If it turns freely in the feed direction and does not turn in the reverse direction, it is the correct roller. If instead it turns freely in the reverse direction, it is the wrong roller. If it turns freely in both directions, it is has a defective one-way bearing.

I have tried different feed rollers from a known good machine. The rollers turn both ways by hand with some resistence. its not a feed roller problem.

Just to make sure, here is the direction of rotation.
