    MPC5000 WITH SC548

Tried replacing the sensors that monitor rotation of fuser, IH board, and fuser/exit unit drive motor. Going to try IOB board today. Before this code for bit of history we replaced the IH unit behind the fuser for a SC582, not sure if relevant but figured I mention. Went about a month after fixing SC582 till getting the SC548's. It will reset and run about half a day. Any suggestions ?

have you try sir to replce the fuser unit itself? i assume that you have stable power source from a volatge regulator.
fix the customer first then fix the machine... its simple and makes life more easy.

There was a Firmware update for this.

Also machine side wiring loom going to fuser can wear causing connection issues.

Agreed Gamut....and maybe swapping in a new fuser for testing couldn't hurt...you can modify a printer unit to keep it cheap.

So did try a fuser same code was back in few hours. What I didn't know was looks like nobody has ever updated firmware so will try that, but why it took 5years for it to finally become problem don't know but will try anyway.

Also note that the plastic retaining arms front and back that hold the fuser in, wear, causing the fuser not to be held "home" properly.

Does the machine try to release the lpr pressure a couple of times after copying? You can hear the lpr gearing cranking in and out usually once after copying ends. If it does it a couple of times after finishing copying, then its likely that the sensor bracket on the machine for the lpr position sensor is bent. It only needs to be 1mm out of position and it will cause sc548.
It usually happens when customers push the fuser in after removing jams. Somehow customers don't seem to be able to push fusers or doors evenly.

                  Hope this helps

Check for a bushing in the exit section stuck to the shaft. This usually causes an exit jam when the gear round out and the roller does not turn. If the gear does not round out, it will stall the fusing/exit motor and give SC 548.
