    Ricoh MPC2551 Noisy Fuser??

I have twice now been to a MPC2551 which when warming up or in pre-drive or after a copy cycle makes a horrible clicking noise. the strange thing is it doesn't make it when the paper is actually going through the machine. I have lubricated the fuser bearings and checked the drive gears which all seem free and easy to turn. Its definitely coming from the fuser unit and I thought I would ask the question if anyone has come across this before and how they fixed it before I order an expensive fuser unit.

    Thanks guys (and girls)

it is not the gear causing that sound it is a friction on the belt unit assy. Disassemble the belt unit then lubricate the edges or better replace it.

What is the fuser sleeve PM? They wear down really easily and should be replaced. You can also use the optional oil supply to get around some noises, but it only works a short while.

See also attached tech bulletin (RD104036) for another fuser noise problem.
