    MP 301 Bypass Tray

Have the bypass tray set for 81/2x14 but every time you print to it the alarm goes off and you have to select the bypass tray at the machine.

The 'Key Lock" symbol is displayed and I assume this is the issue but not sure if it is or how to turn it off. Any way to use auto tray select on the bypass with this

    machine?

    Thanks

Bypass paper size setting only relates to copy mode.
The bypass tray needs to be manually selected in the printer dialog box when the user wants to use it, auto tray switching doesn't include the bypass tray. They'll need to add the second tray and set it for legal size to make it automatically select it.
Just a thought....a sort of workaround might be to install the driver a second time, and set the paper source default to Bypass tray, and name the printer "Legal" or something like that, so when they want to use it, they just select that printer

Not sure if this setting is available for this model but double check
user tools- printer features- system - click to next page and search for a setting like extend tray switching or something along those lines. I believe this should add the bypass as part of the auto tray selection. Worth a try.

User Tools - Printer Features - System - Tray Setting Priority - Bypass Tray. Make certain that it is set to [Driver/Command] and that the bypass tray is selected in the document. In fact, set all paper sources in Tray Setting Priority to [Driver/Command]. This will eliminate paper mismatch errors when the document is set for Bond and the machine is set for Plain/Recycle or any other where the paper type set for the machine is different than what the driver is set for.
