    [Error Code] Ricoh

I have a ricoh mp aficio 4000, the first code it had was sc-554. I went into the service modes and formatted the hdd. Now I got a sc-547 code. If anyone could enlighten me on these codes it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all in advance.

And why did you format the HDD when you had a fusing error code? SC 554 is an overheat error and SC 547 is a Zero cross error. Check the service manual and/or Goose's Guide for corrective action.

I formatted the Hdd because it is a leased unit and we erase the hdd's before they go back to the leasing company. Just thought it was funny I got one error code and after formatting I got another.

If you used the format HDD utility in the SP mode, you wasted your time. All it does is erase the disk index. If you are concerned about someone getting information from the HDD, you have to remove the HDD from the MFP and install it in a computer. You then have to use a utility such as Norton's "WipeDisk" to do a security erase on the disk.
