    2075 groaning noise

Hi, All. I'm not having this issue at the moment, but over the years I have had more than one B140 exhibit an intermittent groaning noise from the left rear (around the fuser area). This happens only on machines with 1.5 mil +. I never have found the culprit because it is so intermittent. Has anyone run into this particular issue? All machines I have heard it on were PM'd and serviced on a regular basis.

I don't remember ever hearing that noise, so this might be total nonsense.
Still, based on the lower cpm machines, it sounds a little like there needs to be a bit more lube between the hot roller and its bearings. At least that's the usual suspect for me when I hear unusual noises from the fusing area on pretty much any machine anymore, as long as the fusing unit is working properly in all other respects. Seems to work.
Told you this might be nonsense.

I have heard a grinding or groaning noise when the cleaning web is not turning, usually from a defective motor. It starts out being intermittent and gradually gets worse. If you take the web off there will be a lot of build up on it. Hope this helps.
