Hi, All. I'm not having this issue at the moment, but over the years I have had more than one B140 exhibit an intermittent groaning noise from the left rear (around the fuser area). This happens only on machines with 1.5 mil +. I never have found the culprit because it is so intermittent. Has anyone run into this particular issue? All machines I have heard it on were PM'd and serviced on a regular basis.

I don't remember ever hearing that noise, so this might be total nonsense.
Still, based on the lower cpm machines, it sounds a little like there needs to be a bit more lube between the hot roller and its bearings. At least that's the usual suspect for me when I hear unusual noises from the fusing area on pretty much any machine anymore, as long as the fusing unit is working properly in all other respects. Seems to work.

I have heard a grinding or groaning noise when the cleaning web is not turning, usually from a defective motor. It starts out being intermittent and gradually gets worse. If you take the web off there will be a lot of build up on it. Hope this helps.Comment
