Good morning fellow Techs. I have a Ricoh 3035 and a customer that just finally updated there computers from win XP to win 7. I have attached the config page by looking at the config page do I have to update the firmware to get it to work on win 7. I am more of a Xerox and Toshiba tech but do like working on Ricohs I just never updated a firmware on one before. And also if it does need an update of firmware would you be able to supply that to me through dropbox. And yes I can pay if I have to. I just keep getting an error message after setup. Thanks

Re: Windows 7 Scan to Folder SMB Do I need to update Firmware.... Thanks
Here is a document that can help. Windows 7 64 BIT can be quite strict. I would suggest giving an exact user permissions to the share and in the security settings of the folder, and not just the EVERYONE object. Usually the 128-BIT Encryption and Home Group setting might be the culprit. I've used this doc for several years.
Strongly doubt if firmware is the issue here, but you do not have much detail in what you are running into.Attached Files -

Since you do not mention what the error was we can only guess what the problem is. The 3035 is new enough that it should support Win 7. Firmware history does not show any updates for Win 7. When using SMB to scan to Win 7, you do have to use an authentication name that has a password. If the computer user does not like to have to enter a password every time he/she turns on the computer, do a search for automatic login for Win 7.Comment

Why not just do the easiest thing and setup FTP? It's neither OS nor firmware dependant, and it just plain works.Comment

In win 7 you can make life easier by turning off password protected sharing................Mystic Crystal RevelationsComment

I do this if SMB does not cooperate. I agree, it withstands Microsoft Updates and password changes. I use Filezilla Server often for FTP. As the tech you have more control too.Comment

Okay I have tried all the above except for the firmware. So if anybody can give me the firmware or know where I can get it from and of course I can pay for it also. Thanks"Broken again"Comment

Hello
in some cases Scan2Folder doesn't work even if you made a Firmware update, try to setup the path to your shared folder manually (\\computername\foldername) instead of network search , in my case it worked !....Memento Audere SemperComment

In order for browse the network to work, you have to be on the same Domain as the network or the same workgroup name if peer to peer. You also have to be sure that the first DNS is local, especially on a domain. In some instances, I have had to both setup the domain name and an SMB work group name.Comment
