I am trying to update the firmware of an AFICIO MP4000 but it do not accept the SDCARD ,whereas the same SDCARD works fine in another unit. BTW SC 819 displayed. Is there any possibility to access the unit through WIM or other

Was it showing the SC code before your update attempt?

SC819 is referring to a kernel/software error. Probably the machne stalls during booting too early so it won't access to the update-SD card, guess there's no chance to get a connection to the WIM as well.

I'd guess you have a corrupted or faulty system SD card (in case this machine does use a system card - if not the system data is written/stored on a controller solid state memory chip - bad luck)

        Hi there!
This problem occurs on some machines, i take another sd-card (max. 2GB for MP 4000 & followers) -OK. I use only the sd-formater from the ricoh-site and have allways the firmware for the type of machine on it, which have to be updated.
        Greetings...

You would need to replace controler for SC819 Firmware will more than likely make no difference

dose the sc code stay or are you only getting it when trying to update firmware??
if only happening when trying to update can you remote into the machine through wim,, if you can you could try to update through there ..
