[Jamming] MPC305spf multi feeding

Hi Guys
I've a MPC305spf with feed problems out of tray 1. When paper feeds from tray 1 the feed roller remains engaged and it will feed a second sheet directly after the first sheet. The machine then calls a lag jam (code 57) as the paper sensor is seeing a sheet of paper twice the length of a A4 sheet. My first instinct is to change out the paper feed unit, but the entire machine seems to be built around it . Any thoughts?

My guess would be the paper feed clutch is sticking.

I was looking for any reason not to replace the paper feed clutch in this machine as the entire machine is built around it!! But in the end I did have to bite the bullet and replace the clutch, a big job and definitely one for the workshop. Machine now all good.
