The user is using only A4 paper in the printer. The document he prints is in lettersize. Paper jams in the fuser. If the document is in A4 size, no jamming occurs. There is another machine MP C3001 in the area and he prints the same document. No jamming occurs. Any solutiion?

Re: Paper Jam in Lettersize printing MP C4503
Check your 8.5x11 tray. Maybe there is A4 paper in it. Size of the document should not cause paper jam. Many times I printed 11x17 document using different size paper including 8.5x11 or 8.5x14 with no problem.Comment

That one I did not try. I will go there again and try it. I am just wondering why in MP C3001 printing is fine using the same settings and paper.Comment

Re: Paper Jam in Lettersize printing MP C4503
The user is only using A4 paper in printing. He needs to print lettersize document in A4 paper. When he prints, it jams. I try to change the papersize settings in 8.5 x 11 even the paper in the tray is A4, but still it jams. It happens only in MPC 4503. In other Ricoh printers, there is no problem.Comment

Re: Paper Jam in Lettersize printing MP C4503
Why print a letter-sized document in A4? Can't they change the document size to A4 before printing it?
I'd go with the sub paper size answer, although printing the document correctly in the first place would be better.Comment

Remove paper from the tray (tray 1) and then print offending document to that tray and see what machine is asking for. Report back.Comment

Re: Paper Jam in Lettersize printing MP C4503
Surely if you're trying to print to a paper size that isn't loaded into the device then you'll get a paper mismatch message, not a jam, if the machine is set correctly for the paper size in the tray then this shouldn't cause jammingThere are 10 types of people in this world, those who understand binary maths and those who don'tComment

Re: Paper Jam in Lettersize printing MP C4503
If the paper size for a tray is specified as a pre-set size instead of 'Auto Size Detect' (i.e 'Letter') and then A4 stock is loaded in that tray, it would feed and jam.Comment
