    Ricoh Aficio 3800 C

I had a SC 860 error ( i now is HDD problem), i have replaced the HDD, but i think the Hdd has a operative system or something else, because the copier say that i have no HDD in.
if so what can i do for the copier reconize the new HDD?
and how can i enter in the service program mode?
    tks in advance

      Hi, right

As far as I'm aware, with Ricoh's you can generally use any Hard drive "either a 2.5" or a 3.5"" and they do not need formatting. However, if the machine is not recognising the hard drive, it might be worth checking the master/slave jumper settings on the hard drive, and check all the connections.

Having said that, I haven't done a Hard drive on this model, and don't have my Laptop to hand.

Other than that, you've asked how to get into the Service Program mode, a Ricoh engineer/technician would have the Service manual, which states how to enter the Service program mode on these models.

Hi wecome to the forum, just check what
sgt snacks-64 told you, HDD jumper to master, ricohs don´t need Hdd formating.
If you know SC 860 is a Hdd error how can you not know how to enter service mode, are you willing to get into problems by going into service mode and altering something by mistake, very easy no this model due to its small limited display, you must know how to jump from one menu to another and back and also exit, be carefull this machine is very tricky you can easlly alter a SP without even knowing you did so, I think you should ask a ricoh tech for help.

HDD is the most likely problem, check the one you installed and make sure it is indeed OK.
Next replace the controller board, next the PSU.

Did you replace the HD with one of the same size? If no, maybe the HD is just too big for the printer, try one with the capacity not more than twice as large as the original HD
