Hi everyone. I have worked hours on a out of toner problem. It says adding toner then goes to no black toner. I have replaced the pump, end of toner sensor, dev unit, hose, and of course the toner bottle. I can hear the clutch click when I energize it, the toner bottle is turning, the toner dosent seem to be getting beyond the toner end resevor which I also replaced. I tried force adding toner with no luck. What am I missing here? Any advice greatly appreciated.

Re: mpc4500 out of toner
Most likely a bad RFID board on the machine. Change SP 3045, Toner End Detection Set, from 0 to 1. If this allows the machine to work, replace the RFID board and then change SP 3045 back. This also works if there is a bad RFID chip on the toner cartridge. With SP 3045set to 1, the machine will function normally except the % toner remaining will not be calculated. There will be no toner low message on the display when the toner remaining drops to 17%. -
Re: mpc4500 out of toner
I have had to replace a couple of toner supply nozzles in the past due to a no toner condition. Usually it is a clogged tube or failed pump.NEVER ASSUME ANYTHINGComment

Re: mpc4500 out of toner
Thanks for the ideas guys. I only use Oem supplies for the color machines, I did replace the nozzle with no result. I never considered the RFID board, I thought it only detected if a toner was installed. I will try replacing it on Monday. I will let you know how it goes, thanks again.Comment

Re: mpc4500 out of toner
This is really unlikely, but maybe check that the developer drive is OK?
I've only seen that on black and white machines, the developer mixing auger stops turning while the machine is adding toner, the machine continues to try to add toner but since the auger isn't turning the sensor doesn't detect that, and after a while the machine decides it is out of toner.Comment

Re: mpc4500 out of toner
Wow, I never would have seen that. I did turn the message off an sure enough it ran fine for the 600 copies I ran. I'll check on it mid week and see what it's doing. I ran off the smc report so I would have a record of everything and sure enough, 3101-01-09 is -48.375 with a full bottle of toner I just put in. And yes, if I turn the message back on it will run about 30 copies before the add toner light comes on. I had already replaced the RFID board, isn't that what calculates the remaining toner? I'm glad it's running but I hate thinking all I did was hide a problem that will return or snowball into something worse. I'll keep an eye on that number and see if it changes. Thanks again everyone for the help.Comment

Re: mpc4500 out of toner
I know this is a very old treat, but i have exact the same issue.
I do not understand:
when the RFID board is replaced, you may not set the toner supply methode back to automatic, and keep it fixed?
Thank you for your help!Comment
