[Misc] MP 3053SP - SP, SSP, Factory SP

    Dear all,

we got a new Ricoh MP 3053SP at work, and I tried to backup the NV-RAM onto a 512mb-SDCard (formatted FAT32 with Panasonic SDFormatter, recognized by the copier).
The upload always fails (with or without front opened, SDCard inserted before or after starting the machine).

    I understood the following points:

To enter SP Mode on newer machines, you have to press Yellow-8-0-6-1-8-2 and hold C (not red button) to enter SP Mode. On older machines, you have to press Yellow-1-0-7-C (red) and hold C (red). If you press 1-4-3 instead of 1-0-7, you are in Factory SP with additional SP Mode Numbers.

I would like to know, why the upload of the NV-RAM doesn't work, and how I can enter Factory and SSP Modes - somewhere I read that you have to press Home and Simplified Screen for longer than 3 seconds and then Simplified Screen again, but this doesn't work.

Thank you very much in advance!

Do you get any type of message or error code when it fails? When you formatted the SD card were there any error messages? Which SD slot were you putting the SD card into? From your post, it sounds like you might be an end user and not a Ricoh technician. A tech would not put a SD card in or remove from the service slot with power applied to the machine, it can damage the SD card.

Make sure that the SD card is set to writeable mode, if the switch on the side is not in the correct position you won't be able to write to it.

You can test it by plugging it into a PC and try creating anything.

Are you putting the SD card in the correct slot? Slot 2(bottom) is the service slot for this model.

Why are you trying to save the nvram ?? and if it's new to you why don't you have the dealer provide that to you, if it's that important for you to have????????????????????
