Ricoh MP 8000 Wrong time when sending email

I have a Ricoh MP8000 that the time on the machine is set right but when I scan to email it's setting the time 3 hours early...
"sent from Ricoh *** at 10:34, but outlook say's 7:34"

I messed with the SP "set time" but, which does change it, but never to the right time.I can't find the right settings (-300 is the default)
    Thank You,
    Tracy

Sounds like the time is off on the computer the email is being read from.

Time zone is set to east coast. Change SP 5302 from -300 to -480. Cycle power and change time in User Tools. We do this as part of set up on all new machines.

I've learned something new today. Never had to mess with that setting, but now I have a question. According to this site, Oregon GMT is -7, so wouldn't you set it to -420?

            Minus 8 from GMT.
(Sorry, this is for San Diego time)

That depends on what portion of Oregon you are in. From the link you posted: Oregon is in the Pacific Time Zone in the United States. Pacific Standard Time (PST) is 8 hours behind Greenwich Mean Time (GMT-8). A small portion of Oregon, in Malheur County, near the Idaho border, is in the Mountain Time Zone.

If you are in Mountain Time Zone it is GMT-7 (-420), otherwise it is GMT-8 (-480).

Did adjusting SP 5-302 fix your problem? I have two machines that just starting showing these same symptoms.
When I adjust 5302 it has a disproportional impact on the time and date.

Example: change the setting to +180 made the emails show up on February 10 in the users inbox.

I found a link in the Ricoh KB that shows how to program the time zone and SNTP server using telnet. I can't post the link, but you can search the KB for:

This is exactly how it is shown on the Ricoh site. Mis-spelling and all.
I haven't tried it yet, but will in the next day or two.

+180 would put it in the Russia, Iraq, Nairobi, Iran or that general part of the world. If you made that change and then sent an email in the mid to late afternoon, it would set the date and time as early the next morning. The date and time sent for an email is not obtained from the sending machine, PC or Scanner. The only thing sent is the GMT offset for the time zone. The email server bases the date stamp on the local time for the time zone specified in the email header.

I love living in a GMT time zone, in fact, as Greenwich is part of my area, I can't get much closer to it

Re: Ricoh MP 8000 Wrong time when sending email

We set the SP 5302 time zone here at +600 for Brisbane Aust.
And converting that from PC software time we are +10hrs GMT for all email servers.

                      ie +600 ricoh = +10GMT realtime.
                      each ricoh 60 = 1 hr GMT

Hope that helps with your conversion.

I think I was a little too vague. I set 5302 to +180 on October 1 and the time stamp on the email was February 10. Some 8 1/2 months off. Ricoh must be doing one hell of an international date line calculation.
In any event, setting the SNTP Server and time Zone using telnet did the trick. Emails now have the correct time stamp.
                          Hope this helps dinnertime else.
