    Ricoh MP1600 Duplex

    Hi,

I recently bought the Ricoh Aficio MP1600, and I must admit it is a good machine. However, it does not seem to have a 'duplex' option which would allow me to print both sides.

What parts do I need to install in order for this work? Is it difficult installing?

Would really appreciate it if someone could help.

    Kind regards

The MP1600 is the 'little brother' (so to speak) of the MP2000 which has duplexing standard. The MP1600 doesn't duplex

Oh, I see, because it says it is an 'option' on the specs.

How do I do scanning on this machine directly to the PC?

Scanning is certainly not something that can be explained in a few brief lines of text.
Search the forum, There are dozens and dozens of threads relating to scanning on most Ricoh models, and they're almost all the same in that regard.
Also...ALL the manuals are readily available for download @ Home | Ricoh Global.
The 'Knowledge base' on that site is also a very useful tool.

          Re scanning :
It would be easier if you grab yourself a manual as you have a lot of up/down buttons to navigate your way through the menus.
From then on you should be able to use the WIM.

Bye the way..if you're using windows 8, Don't waste your time trying to set it up, because I seriuosly doubt that it would have had the necessary firmware update to make it compatible for scanning to a folder
If I were you, I'd focus on Scan to email settings.

I checked. Custom/Special NCS firmware dated might be for Windows 8 and is available on rfg-esource but not on TSRC. It might also be for SC899 as NIB firmware 6.19 supports Windows 8 according to the firmware history.

I figured it was available. I just thought that as an end user, it would be a whole other can of worms
