    Connect to SIP SERVER (IP-FAX)

I need help for connect a Ricoh to a sip server like ASTERISK or Elastix. The IP-FAX documentation is a poor lack of information.
I tried everything but the Ricoh never connect neither sent a request to connect to the Sip Server.

    Please help me!

Re: Connect to SIP SERVER (IP-FAX)

I haven't had the opportunity to set up IP-Fax as yet, but I believe that it is intended to use the internet for sending faxes to another IP-Fax compatible machine, not for dialing out through a SIP server. If you want to send fax using a SIP server, you need a telephone adapter such as a Grandstream HT502 or HT701. The SIP service provider should be able to provide you with one, often already configured for their SIP server. All you have to do is set the local IP address, subnet mask, and gateway. plug it in and you are ready to go.

Did you join this to ask this question?

Yes, Ricoh can't answer the question, so I write here on the forum.

I think the printer accept G3 Modem and also you can choose between SIP Tone or G3 Tone. Also the interface configuration request a username and password for the sip server. Why the Machine have this options if they need a external gateway like a Grandstream. That makes no sense.

I believe that there is a way to fully connect to a Asterisk Server without a gateway between.

      Thanks

Sorry for wake up a dead thread.
I finally make it works and Registered as a SIP Device in Asterisk. But the problem now is that even if I try to send a FAX between two Ricoh Machine on the same Asterisk, the call is dropped.
All I get is a WARNING message from the Debug: chan_sip.c:9191 process_sdp: Rejecting image media offer due to invalid or unsupported syntax: image 49152 tcp t38

Is anyone here knows how configure Ricoh IP-FAX with the Asterisk Sip Server?

        Thanks
