Aficio 2035 with top feeder issues

Hi,
I have an aficio 2035S/P and the top feeder is having problem taking the page.
The page goes in a little and stops and jam.
I am wondering if there are steps to figure out what roller or sensor is bad ?

Could be any number of things based on the limited description, but if it happens every single time, then my money's on the scanning roller gear being cracked and turning freely on its shaft

Adf feed belt and PU roller, reverse roller, and torque limiter. What have you done so far to troubleshoot the issue?

So far I have just cleaned all the sensors.
What are the steps to troubleshoot?

Open the doc feeder cover, while turning the blue wheel at the front, if it doesn't turn the large scanner rollers OR they are easy to keep from turning by applying a little pressure, then the gear is cracked (as i said earlier), and the only fix is to replace the whole assembly.

the page has a hard time starting to go pass the first roller if it does it stops shortly after.

Sounds like the separation roller has more bite than the feed belt. Pickup roller, feed belt and separation roller need to be replaced as a set with new parts.

For best operation, stay with OEM parts as long as they remain available.

Is the ADF the same model as the DF82 on the AF 3228 C?

If they are the same the problem might be in the main turn around idler rollers.
These idlers reach the maximum ware tolerence and don't proved enough down pressure.
They can be modified to increase their life by doing a small filing job on the housing.

Based on the limited info, it's difficult to point to any solution. However based on my experience you first need to know how many copies have the copier done. My pick is more to a worned out separation belt, pick up roller or the torque limiter. Good luck though.
