MPC 2551 driver settings ignored though microst word 2010

Wondering if anyone can help with a strange problem I have with a Mpc2551 on trial, there is 4 pcs 3 running word 2010, now on this version all driver settings are ignored ie paper tray, paper size and staple function, the only way to change these is through the page setup in word, as word overrides the driver settings.....the pc with 2013 on seems to work fine with no problems, have a lot of these machines with the same configuration but never come across this before.

    latest driver and firmware installed.

    cheers

Could be ' Increase auto-keep settings for applications ' is enabled on the driver.

Most word processing software will default to the page settings within the software. This allows the user to configure their document the way they want it. Driver defaults only apply to things like stapling, duplex and color.

Activate /register the version of word 2010 and all the driver configuration/user changes should appear and allow the user to change them.

Thanks for the replies, do you know exactly where to find that setting cipher??

The driver gets ignored on colour selection and staple mode aswell slimslob, and other machines with this set up work fine on the driver.

i just assumed these versions would be activated for them to work, is it a problem you have come across before matrix??

          Thanks

There is a common Microsoft issue where by drivers settings are ignored when printing from applications such as Word or Excel. One thing you could try to confim this would be to print from a different application ie web browser and make sure this works fine.Depending on what driver you are using you could try setting [increase auto keep sertings for applications] to "on" in the [Advanced Optins] tab in the print driver properties, this might solve the problem

I had this just last week on a new install with the latest PCL6 driver and it turned out to be MY mistake.
I was using the customer's document to demonstrate the pre-set templates and although it was letting me save the template,it would not save the settings.
I overlooked the fact that the way to create a pre-set template is to "Register settings" first...which allows you to name the template and save the settings.
It had been a long day in my defense
You may have to check the "Detailed settings" tab in the driver to lock in settings?

Common issue with Ricoh devices is that the machine's tray settings are defaulted to use "Machine settings" rather than "Driver/Command". This will cause issues with MS applications that don't allow the right settings to be automatically selected. Also make sure that when the drivers are set up, the defaults are applied in both the "Printing defaults" under Advanced and "Preferecnces" under General.

Only way we got round this fault was to install the mpc2050 RPCS driver which seemed to work, still unsure why the correct drivers wouldn't work.
