MP C3500 Slow Printing large Color PDF

Have a Ricoh MP C3500 printing extremely slow on large Color PDF 27 Pages 3.4 MB (8 Min) Have tried a lot of different things. PS Driver PCL 5 and 6 as well as RPC's driver. changing the buffer and turning Appletalk and Netware off. (Whatever that was supposed to do). This seems to be an issue with this series of machines. tried it on another MP C3500 a 4500 and a MP C2500 all the same but my home Canon printer prints the job in about 90 seconds... The customer had a MP C4502 that worked fine, but it was moved to another location..

    Any help is appreciated...

I'm the first to admit that exactly how data is transmitted is a bit of a mystery to me.
Most of what I do is by trial and error when it comes to isolating problems like this, but i do know that the newer machines have much faster processors.
Strangely enough though, about a year ago, I was experimenting with one of those machines myself. I was using it to do some printing in my shop, and noticed how slow it was to output some documents - ironically, in this case, it was a brochure for Ricoh colour machines - so the file sizes were maybe just around 1Mb - but maybe the amount of coverage is a factor when it comes to printing it
I can't remember all the specifics now, but there were real measurable differences - particularly in the first page out time between the PCL5/6 or RPCS. I can't remember which one ended up performing the best, but at it's worst, it sometimes took up to a minute to begin, and over 2 minutes to complete the 8 pages.
In the end, I actually experienced real improvement by using the MP C2800 driver instead. .
The output speed from the actual MP C2800 machine still remained much better, but the gap was much smaller.
I don't know why this made a difference for me, or if it'll help you - but it can't hurt if you're out of ideas , but I'm sure someone will come along with a much more informed suggestion, and we'll both learn something

You might check the resolution on the Canon. It is probably at 300dpi. I do not have the MP C3500 driver on my laptop, but the MP C2550 is fixed at 600dpi. Double the resolution take 4 time as long to send the print job. Check whether the font are downloaded as true type or bit map. I can't remember which, but one is faster.

Make sure the Network Interface settings are at their fastest connection....in other words, check to see that the connection is not set to simplex or half duplex and that it is connecting at its fastest speed. Is it set on 10/100 or 1000 Mb speed...go with the highest connection speed possible at full duplex (bi-directional communication)!
