    aficio 3045

    hi all,

i have plenty of high voltage for aficio 1045/3045 that causes sc395. i noticed that everytime i clean the high voltage because it's covered with toner, it causes sc395 when i install it back to the machine. i'm wondering which part of the high voltage is causing sc395 and how do i make it work again?

Ricoh usualy advises in service manuals to disconect the board or any part with semiconductors before vacuming or cleaning with brush.
In my opinion that means DON'T clean boards at all cause static charge may damage the board.
I had SC 395 on feald once,I disconected the red harnes from power pack and powered it on,turned on printer free run and made it print black pages to lower toner density in developer assembly, once I had Vsg and Vsp the way I wanted I reconected red harnes and tryed it on back again with no problem.
Meybe you need to replace drum and developer, what's the condition of those?
Gears, springs, clutches, sliders, connectors and electronics...who on earth can tell what's wrong with it?

both drum and developer are ok. the machine was running normally before i took out the high voltage/power pack from the machine and clean it with brush. when i installed back the high voltage, sc395 comes out. after replacing the high voltage from another working machine it runs normally again. so the brushing damaged the high voltage. which specific part of the high voltage is damaged and any ideas on how to fix it?

I don't know what part precisely get's damaged, but you shuld try that board on working machine to be shure it's busted, when it comes to fixing boards I turn to electronics experts if there are any,but from my experience they can fix only power boards, rarely high voltage boards and allmost newer BICU/Controllor/LCD boards or anything with PCU on it.

in high voltage board there is a small fusable resistor, try to check the continuity, if no continuity, try to replace it, it is color yellow like a resistor. beneath on the board there is a sign of fuse. Hoping this would help...Good Luck..
