MP 4000 and 5000's not accepting static IP.

Ran into one that I thought was kind of a fluke.
Set up for DHCP machine works fine.
As soon as I put in a static IP the NIB basically shuts down.

Can't ping, telnet, ping out and SMTP server connection fails.

Was wondering if anyone else has run into this.
I prefer to network the machines as static so IT has less problems.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

Not seen it myself, have you tried doing a memory clear on NCS / NIB?

That was the trick I was looking for.

      Thanks

The only thing I've run across similar to this is when the tech enables WiFi. It basically disables the NIC.
