    [Misc] Scan Confirmation Print-out

    Hi ALL

I have a request to activate a print-out after every scan-to-mail.....this is for legal proof that the scan was sent to an e-mail. SAMSUNG has this feature, i can't seem to set MPc401 to perform this function. When you print a JOURNAL, it only indicates DATE,TIME,E-MAIL address and COMPLETED....not how many PAGES were scanned...

Can someone plz advise of any settings i can program?

Can't even see scanning in the job log in WIM.

My suggestion is to send a duplicate with the cc to themselves.
It will show date and time and the pages.
At least it saves on paper.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

If they need "legal" proof that an email was sent they should print off a transaction report from their email server, not the copier. The copier does not know if the email was recieved, in fact no one does, so I cannot see how this is legally binding. For fax, which is a direct connection (or at least most of the time, i.e. man in the middle) this could be true, but everyone is moving away from that legality.

        Exactly.

All the copier knows is that the scan made it to the SMTP server - it has no idea if the final destination was ever reached.

I like the cc idea. It may not be legal proof either, but it is a good indicator of sorts. It will also show if pages stuck together, got scanned upside down (blank) etc...

For verification of reception use reception notice on control panel.

Make sure they are the sender.

GlobalScan, either Server or Serverless, will provide a bit more info.

Not free, but not terribly expensive, either.

In this case I would think Serverless would be a better fit, although Server will also give them OCR, which is not available in Serverless (due to the higher resource utilization).
