Staples end up on bottom of SR4030 finisher

This is on a Ricoh MP7001 and SR4030 finisher. Every other copy group is not getting stapled and the staples end up down at the bottom of the finisher. I had the customer try a different staple cart. with the same result. Anyone ever seen this before I go out there?

Sounds like the paper isn't getting stacked where it's supposed to be, so staples are missing. Check the reverse roller that hangs above the staple tray -- the gray foam roller. Make sure the little belt is there and on correctly. If that belt has popped off, the pages won't get stacked right.
