Need fuser unit for Aficio MP2000

Looking for new fusr for Aficio MP2000 part # B259-4002. Used in many models. It is rather expensive and was hoping someone could steer me toward a good price. I use a major dealer in Brooklyn but parts guy has been out a couple of days and I want to be able to compare pricing when he is back on Monday. Sometimes I get pretty prices and sometimes I do a lot better elsewhere.

Your suggestions are very much appreciated. A professionally refurbished one should be okay. Frank/ActionPhotocopy

Yes, a brand new fuser is going to cost you BIG, because it's not considered a consumable. What's the the issue with the fuser that you can't repair/rebuild it yourself?
    What about ebay?: Ricoh Aficio 2015 2016 2018 2020 MP 1600 2000 Complete Fuser Assy B259 4002 | eBay

Just overall wear on rollers etc. Not fusing properly in one area. I prefer a new unit at a good price to buying a kit which may be a little costly and take time to do. Although this unit look fairly simple to rebuild as opposed to some other machine's fusers. Frank

Wow, this is pretty routine stuff, Frank - It's just a fuser, and it's designed to be rebuilt: Hot roller, Pressure roller, Pair of bearings, and maybe a thermistor. Parts are reasonable ($), and 30 minutes or so to do it

Maintenance kit to rebuild fusing unit, PMB121120K. Price just over $100 US dealer coast from Ricoh. Rebuild time about 45 minutes.

To rebuild PCU, PMB12160K, around $50, OPC Drum B0399510, Developer Type 28 B1219640. About 45 minutes to one hour.

It's true that this is a simpler rebuild than many and not prohibitive in cost when compared to cost of new one. Question is will this customer want rebuild and isn't is always better to get new one at a great price. In this case around $200? Always worth a look and the time to ask the question as i did here. Just keeping my options open and avoiding rebuild if not necessary. I did rebuild the drum unit recently on a 2020d.Wow! Frank

If the customer is a charge customer, give him/her two estimates, one with rebuilding the fusing unit and the other with replacing and let the customer decide. If it is on a maintenance contract, go with the lowest cost to you or else you are eventually going to go out of business.

There is also the option of getting the customer to upgrade to new equipment.

Tim, my friend, after reading your comments I have to say that you are a master of the obvious. Of course some people don't see the obvious, so they need guidance every step of the way. But you and I are in sync. I am glad that you are responding to my request for help and grateful to you for your support and advice. I need all the help i can get, especially technically. I hope the rest of your weekend special. Have some fun for me. Sometimes my life is a little boring. Frank
