Re: Poor Color copy Ricoh MPc2500
Turn the machine off. Clean all the mirrors in the scanner unit. Also check for dust under the scale at the end of the glass. When the machine is turned or comes out of energy saver, the white strip on the bottom of the scale is scanned to set the white reference. Dust under the scale or on the mirrors makes the machine think that gray is actually white. The more the dust, the lighter that portion of the scanned document will appear to the machine.
After turning the machine back on, rerun Auto Color Calibration.Comment

Re: Poor Color copy Ricoh MPc2500
IT guy here, not a copier tech, but my wife talked me into buying a MP C2500 off of craigslist. Got a great deal, $100 for the copier, around 250k pages total and full CMY toner cartridges. The black is low, so I have already ordered a new OEM toner cartridge thanks to some recommendations I've seen here I won't be trying aftermarket toner.
When printing, things come out stellar, but copying looks like the OP's scans, everything comes out with a slight gray wash and there are slight lines that show up across the page when copying in portrait and down the page when copying in landscape.
Mono or color makes no difference. everything just looks dirty when copied.
Printed pages look as good as any I have ever seen from a color laser.
I believe based on what I have found in this forum and others that I'll need to clean the optics to get this working properly.
is there a guide or video I can watch to walk me through this? I'm not afraid to do i myself, I just need to have an idea what I'm doing.
Thanks for looking!
