    Lines on MP-C2500

I am getting Magenta lines all over the page on copy quality. We have used two different brand new drums as well as brand new developers and it still hasn't worked. I tried the same exact drums on another machine and the copy quality was perfect. Any idea what could be causing these lines?

If you would like some help you need to give more info. Copy job or print? Or both? Optics clean? image transfer cleaning unit new? Replaced Magenta drums and devs twice? Any specific reason for doing it twice? What have you tried in order to eliminate certain units from being the cause?

Absolutely...Print job, so then it is with copying as well. Optics are clean, image transfer unit is good, replaced the magenta drum because normally when there are magenta lines that seems to be the issue. After replacing the drum and the lines were still there i thought maybe by chance the new drum was also bad, but after once again using another new drum with no avail, I knew it was something else. And the notion that the same magenta pcu works perfectly in another machine leads me to assume that this has something to do with the machine itself maybe. But obviously i don't know which is why i am asking.

Had a problem similar to this and I eventually replaced the CCD unit and that has sorted it out

              Samples?
Are the lines in the same spot every time or do they move randomly?

It seems to be getting worse, now the whole page is pretty much covered in magentA

Things I would be looking at, if it is on prints as well as copies, would be laser unit, BICU board, IPU board, or Controller. It is starting to sound like an electronics issue instead of something mechanical.

Ok i am about to change the laser unit with one from a parts machine, only i don't have the data to input for SP 2-185-001 and 2-101-001 for the new laser unit. Any ideas what to input for that when i put it in?

How about looking at the data on the machine your are taking it from. If it is not functional enough to turn on with the door open to check SO settings, see if you have the birth certificate or an old non-default printout from it.

If you could scan and attach a sample that would be a big help.
