I have a Ricoh/Lanier MP 2851/LD528. I am hooking up an ATA device for VOIP faxing. I was advised to lower the baud rate to 9600 and turn the error correcting off. I logged in with admin to the web interface and I could not find such settings. Someone advised me that it is in a different menu for service or technician. Please advise me on how to access this menu so I could change these settings. Thanks in advance.

The settings that you need to make are bit switches. I would advise that you only change them while talking to Ricoh technical support otherwise you can really screw things up.Comment

That is not true. You have to make these changes with most of the ATA/FXS devices that has to be hooked up to the phone port is not using the native VOIP features of the MFP. If you want reliable fax transmission and reception, the baud rate has to be dropped to work best on VOIP. I am using one of the top 3 providers in the US for service.Comment

Where do I change the settings? Is it hardware dip switches or software? Is there a tool I need to download and change the settings or is it through the machine itself? Everyone is very vague on all the posts I saw that I searched.Last edited by Guest; 12-03-2014, 11:24 PM.Comment

If you were familiar with Ricoh, you would know where to change bit switch settings. Like I said before, it is best to do while talking to tech support. If you do not want tech support help, you had better have all the proper manuals.Comment

The bit switches are located in service mode under fax SP. You need a manual with the switch table for your specific model as they vary a little between machines, and you probably have more than 30 switches in use. That's way more than 200 different programming options just in fax itself. You gotta have the documentation.NEVER ASSUME ANYTHINGComment
